Personal profile


I was born in Curitiba, Brazil. After concluding my studies at undergraduate level, I obtained a DDS degree by Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (Brazil). In 2012, I was awarded Magna Cum Laude MSc in Forensic Odontology by the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). Within the next four years, I was enrolled as Joint doctoral researcher between the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. In 2016, I achieved the PhD degree in Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, respectively. In 2018, after 18-month training, I obtained the certificate of specialized Forensic Odontologist by the Brazilian Dental Association (ABO-GO). Between 2018 and 2019, I developed postdoctoral activities at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. From undergraduation to postdoctoral studies, I developed research within projects funded (for eight years) by Brazilian institutions (PUCPR, CNPq, and CAPES). My main research interests are human identification, dental age estimation, bite mark analysis, forensic imaging and clinical anatomy.
