Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests are in moral and social psychology. I have a primary interest in moral judgment, particularly in the factors that explain moral diversity, i.e. what makes some things more morally right or wrong than others, and why people sometimes answer this question in very different ways. More specifically, my work focuses on how people make judgments when they have to choose between competing moral intuitions. I am interested in how such intuitive moral trade-offs might relate to deliberated moral values, and social and political attitudes and behaviour. I also have interests in intergroup relationships, particularly in factors that influence cooperative behaviour, and in how individual differences in cognitive style impact on political and social attitudes.
