Biography
Dr. Andrew G. Ross is a Senior Lecturer in International Business and Strategy within the School of Business at the University of Dundee. He is also Deputy Head of the Management and Marketing Discipline, and has served two periods as Head of Discipline. Prior to his current appointment he taught economics at The University of Edinburgh and was a Lecturer in International Business at Edinburgh Napier University. Before entering academia Andrew worked within the corporate division of a leading global bank.
Dr. Ross is a published author in the areas of corporate governance, regional entrepreneurship, foreign direct investment, economic development, and geopolitics. His current research interests lie at the intersection of International Business, Strategic Management and Geopolitics. He has also provided expert commentaries to esteemed organisations and think tanks including The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), Geopolitical Monitor, and The Royal Geographical Society on the geopolitical implications of China's outward investment strategies.
Dr. Ross has current teaching responsibilities for areas including: foreign market entry strategy, foreign direct investment, globalisation, political and institutional risk, mergers and acquisitions, and international strategy. In addition to his teaching experience Andrew has extensive experience of programme leadership roles in the UK and overseas where he has successfully led strategic TNE partnerships.
He serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Corporate Governance, is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Dr. Ross is currently the External Examiner for the MSc Management degree at Lancaster University.
