Biography

Angela qualified and began her career as a primary teacher and  has worked in a variety of educational roles and contexts over the years, with a particular focus on early years professional development. Since joining the University of Dundee, Angela has completed her M.Ed and  become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

Currently, Angela teaches predominantly on BA Childhood Practice, engaging distance learners in her modules which focus upon children's learning and devlopment and the role of the eductor in supporting learning through play. 

Angela's research interests lie in transitions and children's active participation. She is particularly interested in the current debate around a play based curriculum for children starting school.
