Biography
Anna Robb joined the University as a Lecturer in Education in January 2012. Anna studied Art History at the University of Warwick as an undergraduate followed by an MA in Arts and Heritage Management at the University of Sheffield; the focus of the dissertation concerned education policies in historic properties. Following a number of years working in commercial organisations, she completed the PGCE in Primary Teaching at the University of Dundee and worked for a number of years in primary schools in Scotland. Her PhD was completed in 2019 and is focused on young children's everyday visual art experiences and their self-identity (https://discovery.dundee.ac.uk/en/studentTheses/curating-curiosity)
Teaching
Primarily Anna works on both the MA and PGDE initial teacher education programmes lecturing in Social Studies, Literacy, and Expressive Arts. In addition to this Anna is a lecturer on the MEd programme as Lead Tutor for Research Methods, and supervising a number of dissertations.
Research
In 2019 Anna icompleted a PhD focused on the relationship between visual art experiences in young children and identity, examining how schools can address this to create an inclusive primary art education classroom. Other areas of interest include children's voice and language and literacy. She has recently received a Carnegie Research Incentive Grant exploring the impact of a creative industries background on the practice of PGDE students in primary schools.
