Personal profile

Research

I am a political geographer interested in cross-cutting themes around critical ocean studies, the Blue Economy, and the political economy of climate finance and ocean governance. I am currently a Post Doctoral Research Fellow working on a ESRC-funded project on climate change, coastal mangrove ecosystems and socio-economic dynamics in Ghana and Tanzania.

Previously, during my PhD (Durham University, 2025), I have worked extensively in the Western Indian Ocean, and the Republic of Seychelles in particular, to ethnographically explore the politics surrounding the surge of the Blue Economy paradigm as the latest development frontier at the intersection of environmental sustainability, social wellbeing, and economic prosperity.
