I joined the University of Dundee in 2013 to work in initial teacher education after spending sixteen years in Secondary Education firstly teaching biology and as Principle Teacher of Guidance and Pupil Support.
I am Pastoral Care convenor for the PGDE Education Programmes and I teach on MA undergraduate, PGDE around the wider areas of health and wellbeing. On the M.Ed programme, I am module leader on the Wellbeing in Young People, Supporting Learners and Teaching and Learning for Equity.
My reserach interests are in the area of health and wellbeing, equity in education and developing a sense of belonging. I also take a keen interest in how we can continue to enhacnce the quality of learning and teching through developing our understanding of pedagogy. I am also interested in innovative approaches to supporting student attainment in higher education as well as student mental health in higher education.
