Biography

Eilaine is a Clinical Academic Nurse Consultant for Older People, which is a joint appointment with NHS Tayside 3 days a week and 2 days a week is spent within the School of Health Sciences at the University of Dundee. Eilaine had over 19 years of experience working in primary care and community nursing before taking up her current role in 2021. After qualifying as a Registered Adult Nurse at the University of Dundee in 2001, Eilaine spent 5 years working in 2 Nursing Homes as a Staff Nurse and then a Charge Nurse. Eilaine then joined NHS Tayside, where she worked in District Nursing Services for 9 years holding positions of; Community Staff Nurse, District Nurse, District Nurse Team Leader and Clinical Team Leader. Eilaine then worked in Medicine for the Elderly services as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for 5 and half years, which spanned across the patients journey in primary and secondary care. Eilaine also worked on the bank as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Fellow in NHS Grampian for a short time. Eilaine's current role as Clinical Academic Nurse Consultant for Older People aligns with 4 pillars of practice: 1) Expert clinical practice 2) Leadership 3) Education and Research 4) Practice and Service Development/Redesign. Eilaine is also a Professional Doctorate student aligned with the School of Health Sciences at the Univeristy of Dundee and hopes to graduate in 2026.
