Biography

Khadija Jabeen is the Outreach and Training Officer for Jalview and The Dundee Resource for Sequence Analysis and Structure Prediction (DRSASP) in the Division of Computational Biology at the School of Life Sciences. She is responsible for outreach and training activities associated with the project, including curation of promotional and educational multimedia content for it's diverse audiences worldwide. 
 
In 2024, she was elected Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) for her outstanding achievements towards social progress using creative approaches in the capacity-building of citizen communities.
 
She is a co-recipient of the 2018 John Ziman Award for her collaborative efforts to promote public interaction with science and technology for her involvement in the Cambridge-led Citizen Sense study. This award was made by the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST).
 
Khadija has extensive experience in scientific public engagement in the academic sector, including the innovative application of citizen science using multimedia formats.
