Accepting PhD Students
PhD projects
I’m happy to supervise PhD students who share my passion for Econometrics, Time-series analysis, and applying quantitative methods in Economics and Finance.
I welcome candidates with a passion for research, economics, finance, and quantitative methods. While basic knowledge of statistics and econometrics is essential, experience with R, Python, or Julia would be a great advantage (though not mandatory).
I’m open to supervising a wide range of topics in economics and finance proposed by candidates. Alternatively, you could collaborate on projects I’m currently working on, especially those involving ARDL models and Cointegration analysis.

Kleanthis Natsipoulos is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Dundee School of Business, having joined in January 2024. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Thessaly, Greece, and an M.Sc. in Statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. Additionally, his Ph.D. is in econometrics and computational statistics from the University of Thessaly, Greece.
In his previous roles, Kleanthis worked for more than 3 years as a data scientist in the oil and shipping industry, and in market research. During this time, he specialized in developing predictive models for global supply-demand systems and implementing complex algorithms based on microeconomic methodologies, utilizing statistical and machine learning techniques.
Kleanthis' research interests are centered around econometrics, with a particular emphasis on time-series and cointegration analysis, computational microeconomics, and machine learning. Feel free to reach out if you're interested in potential collaborations!
Research Projects
Kleanthis is the creator of the R package ARDL. An R package for the construction of complex ARDL models and the bounds test for cointegration.
