Biography

I am a health data scientist passionate about the re(use) of NHS and administrative data to conduct research that will improve health care and patient outcomes. I am a Research Fellow at the Health Informatics Centre (HIC) and involved in the service delivery of the Trusted Research Environment (TRE) as Project Manager. My research interests are in health inequalities, learning disabilities, mental health, polypharmacy and cancer.

 

I am also an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Glasgow’s School of Health and Wellbeing, Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory (SLDO). I am involved in various ongoing projects around evidencing the health inequalities faced by the population with learning disabilities. Prior to this postdoctoral position, I completed my PhD at Glasgow Caledonian University researching the impact of healthy ageing on the visual brain (using neuroimaging, psychophysics, and psychology). My MSc in Research Methods in Psychological Sciences was at the University of Glasgow and my undergraduate BSc in Biological Sciences (Psychology) at the University of Edinburgh.

Research interests

My primary areas of interest are health inequalities, polypharmacy, mental health, and learning (intellectual) disabilities/ autism. I am a strong advocate for the power of collaboration across diverse multidisciplinary teams that span data science, clinical practice, and health and social sciences.
