Research
Curently engaged in a practice-led research project that experiments with listening as an art form. The research explores the relationship between hope, listening and imagination; People will be invited to imaginatively engage in the practice of listening and being listened to, testing the possibilities of the creative practice of listening to go beyond what is heard, attending to the complete context of the situation, to a deeper new dimension that hears beyond what is perceptible, holding open a space within the minds of others to envision new perspectives and ideas, enabling them to imagine and give substance to an alternative vision of reality that can in turn generate a sense of hope. This research seeks to investigate the potential for a creative listening practice to enable people to feel connected to the present, to engage with their deepest desires and become motivated about the possibility of moving towards that ideal. Thus, generating hope and meaning that may help alleviate the stresses and strains of daily life, and improve mental wellbeing.
