Biography
Dr Lorna Nisbet is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Toxicology at the University of Dundee, Programme Lead for the part-time distance MSc in Drug Analysis and Toxicology, and Co-Director of the National Drug Testing and Research Laboratory (NTRL). Her work spans forensic toxicology, analytical method development, drug monitoring, and the advancement of sustainable laboratory practices.
Dr Nisbet plays an active leadership role in the international toxicology community. She is the current Chair of the London Toxicology Group, a network representing practitioners across the UK, and a Board Member of the European Workplace Drug Testing Society. She is also a full Council Member of the UK Government’s Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), contributing scientific expertise to national policy development. In addition, she is a member of the United Kingdom and Ireland Association of Forensic Toxicologists (UKIAFT) and the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT).
Dr Nisbet supervises postgraduate research and is open to PhD supervision in forensic toxicology, drug analysis, and sustainable analytical science.
