Biography

Dr Luca A. Forte is a Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Dundee.

He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics and has worked in a variety of scientific fields, from gravitational waves astronomy to radar imaging, neurobiology, ultrasound and medical imaging. He has trained at many academic institutions (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Université libre de Bruxelles, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Texas at Dallas) and worked in the R&D sector in the medical device industry (Philips Healthcare Image Guided Therapy).

His current research interests orbit around medical imaging physics and biomedical acoustics, with a focus on computational modeling, inverse problems and engineering design for different clinical applications (breast cancer, intravascular ultrasound).
