Biography
I have a strong passion for Feminism, Gender Studies, and Gendered Aesthetics, specifically in the context of art studies and painting. Hence, I addressed the male gaze and gender stereotypes regarding portraying women in my MA thesis titled: "A Comparative Study of the Image of Women in a Selection of Works by Iranian and non-Iranian Painters, with a Special Focus on the Last Two Decades."
Currently, my PhD project, titled "Comparative Gendered Aesthetics in Contemporary Middle East Painting, with a focus on Afghanistan (pre/post Taliban occupation)," focuses on analyzing gendered aesthetics in Afghan painting by employing statistical analysis, aiming to uncover the impact of the Taliban.
