Biography

I have a strong passion for Feminism, Gender Studies, and Gendered Aesthetics, specifically in the context of art studies and painting. Hence, I addressed the male gaze and gender stereotypes regarding portraying women in my MA thesis titled: "A Comparative Study of the Image of Women in a Selection of Works by Iranian and non-Iranian Painters, with a Special Focus on the Last Two Decades."

My PhD project (funded by AHRC and SGSAH), titled "Comparative Gendered Aesthetics in Contemporary Afghan painting (post 1970)", focuses on analyzing gendered aesthetics in Afghan painting by employing statistical analysis, aiming to uncover the impact of the Taliban.
