Personal profile
Biography
Prior to my current role, I graduated with a degree in General Science (with Distinction) from the University of St Andrews in 2015. I then completed a PGDE in Primary Education (with Merit) in 2016. I then decided to change career path from education to nursing. I completed an MSc in Adult Nursing at the University of Dundee in 2020.
Following this, I worked as a General Practice Nurse within NHS Tayside from 2020 to 2023 in 2 different practices. This role involved treatment room responsiblities as well as chronic disease monitoring and management. It also furthered my interest in health promotion and behavioural change, which I continue to explore in my Lecturer role. Between 2020 and 2022, I completed the NES General Practice Nursing Programme (with Merit), as part of Cohort 11, to reinforce my understanding of the role of the General Practice Nurse.
I jointed the School of Health Sciences at the University of Dundee in July 2023. In this role, I deliver teaching and learning for undergraduate nursing students, develop curriculum content, and engage in scholarly activity. I completed my PGCAPHE in June 2025 and achieved Fellowship status with Advance HE.
Teaching
I am the Clinical Skills Lead for Year 1 undergraduate nursing students, which involves planning and developing clinical skills sessions to meet NMC requirements. I aam also the Link Lecturer for Simulated Practice Learning (SPL), so my role is to review clinical skills sessions to ensure they meet the SPL standards outlined by the NMC. I am also a module team member for some undergraduate modules, and am involved in content delivery as well as curriculum development.
