Mhairi is a Lecturer in the School of Education and Social Work.  She currently teaches on the MA (Hons) and PGDE programmes. 

Mhairi has over 17 years of teaching and management experience in Scotland, Russia, China and Hong Kong.  She has taught at all stages of primary, however, has spent most of her career working in the early years and lower primary.

Mhairi is particularly interested in the role of play and language in natural environments and how this supports development. 


Mhairi’s other interests include:

Emerging literacy

Inquiry learning
