Personal profile

Research

EngD researcher. I am researching the performance and advantages of the use of parallel optical transceivers and SpaceFibre protocol for onboard data handling for spacecraft. This type of data handling system can handle over 10 Gbps, which is a novelty as opposed to most advanced systems used in space currently handling a few 100 Mbps.

The study is conducted in an industrial professional environment at Star-Dundee as part of their R&D programme.

The study includes working on system schematic and PCB design, testing optical and electrical components, FPGA VHDL system design, implementation and testing.

Education/Academic qualification
