Biography

Nicola joined the School of Law at the University of Dundee as a Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in August 2018. 

After graduating in 1997, she was appointed as paralegal with Thorntons Solicitors in Dundee before embarking on a career in teaching law in both further and higher education institutions. After a period of part-time lecturing, she was appointed to the position of Senior Lecturer at Dundee College and thereafter Teaching Fellow in Law at Abertay University. In addition to her teaching at Abertay, she took on the role of law work placement tutor and law clinic supervisor.

In 2016, Nicola achieved the status of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in recognition of the impact of her teaching practices and supporting the student learning experience.

 


 

Research interests

Nicola is particularly interested in legal education and pedagogy with a strong focus on blended learning and technology enhanced learning.
