I joined the University of Dundee School of Business as a senior lecturer in 2022. Prior to that, I worked at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and Henan University. I obtained my Doctor degree in Economics from the University of Wuppertal (in Germany) in 2013.

My research interests include Monetary Economics, Macroeconomics, and Chinese Economic Studies.

I currently teach "Macroeconomic Theory," "Macroeconomic Policy in Practice," and "Business Analytics" as core components of the Economic Studies Honours programme. At the postgraduate level, I teach the module on Business Analytics.

More broadly, I have considerable experience of teaching modules in macroeconomics, monetary economics, and international macroeconomics at various levels. 

I am an applied economist, with the main research interests in monetary economics, macroeconomics, and Chinese economic studies.

My main contributions to the literature include two narrative indices (to measure the policy stance of Chinese monetary policy and Chinese macroprudential policy, respectively) and a series of papers to examine the impact of Chinese monetary policy, published in the Journal of Banking & Finance, International Journal of Central Banking, and Journal of International Money and Finance.

In addition to the work on monetary policy and financial stability, I am currently working on projects on household financing, corporate financing, and the psychological health of left-behind children in China, using household- and firm-level data.   

Besides working at universities, I have experience of working as a visiting fellow at the central banks’ research institutes, including the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary and the Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition.
