Personal profile

Research

Year 1 PhD student with the research project title 'Chemical characterisation of new psychoactive substances (NPS) and investigation of their long-term health implications on human health and wellbeing'. During my first six months at the University of Dundee, I have gotten to grips with the general way of PhD life, literature searching and reading and attendance of OPD skills workshops. In terms of practical work, I have gained experience of working with GC-MS and analysis of results, drug metabolomics work and Raman spectrometry. Over the next 6 months I hope to develop skills in drug synthesis, NIR and metabolomics data processing to determine which metabolites are formed during phase 1 and phase 2 metabolism of NPS compounds.
