Research interests

Immediately after finishing his PhD from School of Education and Social Work, University of Dundee, Tanka Dahal worked as a Tutor in M.Ed., distance learning, programme within the school. Dr. Dahal, then joined the Funds of Knowledge Project as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and has been contributing to the project since then. Besides his keen interest in funds of knowledge approach and co-construction of curriculum, Dr Dahal is interested in a range of areas such as educational inclusion and exclusion, education and social justice, gender, character education, assessment, international education and career long professional learning (CLPL). Dr. Dahal taught in high schools and colleges over fifteen years in Nepal before he relocated to the UK. In addition to his professional engagement, Dr. Dahal is a award-winning creative writer, a known poet of his generation in Nepal, with an anthology of his own writings in original Nepali published under his nom de plume Mukul Dahal.
