    Currently a University Professor (Non-Clinical) I trained in experimental and applied psychology - B.Sc. Hons Psychology & Diploma in Applied Psychology) and then in health services research (M.Sc.). I have a PhD in Psychology.

    - In Dundee I am Professor of Applied Health Research & Health Technology Assessment (AHR&HTA).

     

    I came to the University of Dundee from a position at the University of York where I was Professor of Psychometric Epidemiology and based in the Mental Health and Addictions Research Group in their School of Health Sciences/HYMS).

    Since joining the School we have been renamed twice, first to become School of Nursing and Health Sciences, then again to become School of Health Sciences.

    I am a Professorial member of University of Dundee Senatus Academicus.

     

    I serve on NIHR funding panels and am currently one of the Deputy Chairs for the Advanced Fellowships panel of the NIHR Academy: I was on the latest ARC panel.

    I have supported and mentored the careers of Fellowship holders from a range of funders including The Wellcome Trust & NIHR and specialise in capability building.

    I sit on School Boards for other UoD Schools, Design/DJCAD and the School of Social Sciences. I have help oversight roles alongide the Health Informatics Centre HIC^ (Advisory and Oversight Committee member, following association with the Farr Institute and now UK HDR).

    For NHS England I am the external academic member of the Oversight & Advisory Board for Mental Health for the Five Year Forward View & now the Long Term Plan.

    I am a Member of Council of Deans of Health Research Advisory Group [CODH-RAG].

    I am a member of the ESRC Peer Review College.
