Personal profile

Research

I am Interdisciplinary Professor of Digital Living at the University of Dundee. I hold a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Multimedia and Interactive Systems (Distinction). I am a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

I lead the interdisciplinary Living Digital Group. The Group carries out empirical investigations of human behaviour in digital contexts. We use qualitative and quantitative methods to develop insights and to design technologies, placing a strong emphasis on applied, impactful research. Increasingly, our research focusses on online identity, reputation, trust and cybersecurity, and traverses disciplinary boundaries - drawing on Human Computer Interaction, psychology, sociology, digital anthropology and design.

We collaborate with researchers from a variety of disciplines, and our project partners include Microsoft, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bristows and the Government Office for Science.
