Biography

Yang is a lecturer in Accounting and Finance within the Accounting & Finance discipline in the School of Business since 2020. Yang is the programme director for the Bachelor of Finance (BFin) and Bachelor of International Finance (BIFin) of the undergraduate programmes. Yang is also the Open Research Lead for the School of Business.

Yang completed his Ph.D degree at Bangor University in the field of Accounting and Finance in 2018, Master's degree at the University of Exeter in Financial Analysis and Fund Management in 2014 and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at the Edinburgh Napier University in 2013. Yang is a member of CPA (Australia).

Yang's current research interests include financial fraud, corporate governance, corporate culture, corporate finance, green finance and corporate social responsibility. Yang's research work has appeared in many internationally recognised journals such as British Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Accounting Forum, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Finance and Economics, European Journal of Finance, Business Strategy and the Environment etc.

Yang is currently the executive member of the Scottish British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) regional group, and the Interdisciplinary Perspectives Special Interest Group (IPSIG) for BAFA. Yang is also an editorial board member for the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance and the Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies.
