Biography

Yijun holds a Master of Science (MSc) and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, both conferred by the University of Strathclyde in 2013 and 2018, respectively.

From December 2018 to April 2021, Yijun served as a Research Associate at the University of Strathclyde. From May 2021 to September 2023, he transitioned to the role of Research Fellow at the National Subsea Centre, Robert Gordon University. In October 2023, Yijun embarked on a new chapter in his academic journey by joining the University of Dundee as a Lecturer in Computing.

  • Multimodal Fusion

He has publised over 40 peer-reviewed research papers in the domains of pattern recognition and multimodal data processing. He serves as a Guest Editor for leading journals such as Remote Sensing and Frontiers in Plant Science. Furthermore, he generously shares his expertise by serving as a reviewer for esteemed publications like IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP), IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM), and IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing (TGRS), etc.

Yijun has been involved in many significant projects funded by EU-H2020, Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Office of Naval Research (ONR) and other international funding bodies and industries with a portfolio of over £2 million.
