Description

Project of the Year was won by the ‘Daffodil DNA Project’ team, a collaboration between Jon Hale (Head of Biology at Beaulieu Convent School, Jersey); 9 schools across Scotland (Baldragon Academy, Banchory Academy, Blairgowrie High School, Forfar Academy, Morgan Academy, Queen Anne High School, St Modan's High School, St Peter the Apostle High School, St Thomas of Aquin's High School); the James Hutton Institute and University of Dundee’s School of Life Sciences and Botanic Gardens. The aim is to take state-of-the-art genomic technology into the classroom.

The Daffodil DNA Project’s bioinformaticians James Abbott, Suzanne Duce, Geoffrey Barton, Jim Procter and Benedict Soares submitted the application on behalf of the Daffodil DNA Project.
