    Abstract

    Preschool children may experience social emotional adaptation problems from time to time depending on various reasons. The child-rearing attitudes of parents in child’s social and emotional developmental course play critical role by the means of the process of child interaction. The form of these realtionships
    established with child builts the new communication patterns will be used in subsequent relationships. In this study, the relationships between 5 years old children’s social emotional consistency and their parents’ attitudes are aimed to evaluate. The current study is in correlational survey model. The working
    group comprised of 50 parents and 4 teachers of 5 years old in preschools. In this study, “Parental Attitude Scale” was used to measure parental attidutes of 5 years old and it was applied to 50 parents. To measure 5 years olds’ social emotional cosistency, “Marmara Social Emotional Adjustment Scale” was used and applied to children’s teachers. In the results, the relationship between 5 years old children’s social emotional consistency and demokratik parents’ attitudes was statistically significant. However, the relationship between 5 years old children’s social emotional consistency and
    authoritarian, helicopter and permissive parents’ attitudes were not statistically significant.
