Abstract
In this chapter we explore the challenges haitian migrants face to achieve social justice in Brazil. For that we explore the different dimensions of violence, which is a structuring component of social injustices in Brazilian society. We engage in a critical analysis of core mechanisms that contribute to reproduce inequalities in Brazil: racism, patriarchalism, sexism and patrimonialism. We conclude by highlighting that a response to such distinct forms of violence is the principle of human life dignity in which justice, fraternity and citizenship are paramount.
