Abstract
Laura Samani's film _Piccolo corpo_ exemplifies queer martyrdom in the old sense, 'witnessing', by having a trans man character carry another person's dead child to a shrine for a miraculous revival. It uses magical realism to queer both its own plot, and gender narratives of its time (set in 1900) and ours.
