Abstract

The creation and development of adaptive learning systems involve various stakeholders in the overall development process. To understand how the involvement of these stakeholders is approached, we conducted a systematic literature review to determine which stakeholder groups are actively involved within different stages of system creation. We identified 35 papers published between 2018-2022 relevant to this review and used these to identify specific areas where stakeholder involvement has been carried out. We show that educators have very little involvement in the design, implementation, and evaluation of adaptive learning systems. We suggest that this is an area where further research is required.
