    Abstract

'Aerial' (2013) and 'Preparations' (2013) were shown within the exhibition 'Great and Small' curated by Peter Pinson AM for Peter Pinson Gallery at Syndicate at Danks, Sydney, Australia. The concept of the exhibition was to present a large scale and smaller scale work by the six artists included in the exhibition. The six artists were: Yvonne Boag, Ian Grant, Sandra Leveson, Alan Oldfield, Eric Smith, Anita Taylor, Ken Woolley, each showing two works. 'Aerial' (220 x 195cm) and 'Preparations' (31 x 25cm), both oil on canvas are related works that explore the notion of a suspended reality or moment in time. The exhibition facilitated a comparative viewing of these works and the impact of scale, mark-making and image between the large and small scale narrative paintings.
