    Abstract

AMIGOS 1 is a simple, clear and complete book for all beginner students who want to learn Spanish and at the same time enjoy the learning experience. This book is focused on secondary, college/university and adult students. The book seeks to teach the 5 basic skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar) to learn a foreign language, using a simple but concentrated methodology where the instructions are to be in Spanish and English. In terms of the Common European Framework of Reference, it delivers level A1 and has some content from level A2. The book is divided into 14 units. Units 1 – 12 provide approximately 3 hours of class material. Each unit is subdivided into topics to develop the reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary skills. Unit 13 is the grammar content and Unit 14 is the Spanish/English vocabulary content of the complete book. Each unit contains free audio content to re-enforce the listening skills, dialogue to re-enforce communication skills, exercises to re-enforce grammar and written skills, reading content to re-enforce reading skills and introduce the student to Spanish-speaking cultures. The course is intended to be used by students who speak either British or American English.
