Abstract

This limited edition case bound publication comprises of keynote and peer-reviewed papers, proceedings and documentation of exhibitions and project events at the Impact 8 International Printmaking Conference – hosted by Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee in August 2013.
The conference theme – ‘Borders & Crossings: the artist as explorer’ highlights the experimental nature of the meeting, both as an academic platform and as a celebration of inter-disciplinarity and exploration through the medium of print. The event attracted over 450 delegates from 32 countries and as such provided a critical view on contemporary print practices from a unique global perspective.
The Impact biennial conference series is a significant event on the international calendar for artists and academics interested in print and print related activity and research. These texts and full colour documentation are therefore essential reading for anyone interested in the history, contemporary practices and future potential of print and printmaking.
