Brick Bread and Biscuit The Chemical Recycling of Precious Metals from E-Waste for Jewellery Design in India

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

Text about the book by Sandra Wilson: "Brick, Bread and Biscuit presents the some of the key outcomes from a two-year government (EPSRC) funded research project developing the chemical recycling of precious metals from electronic waste for jewellery design in India. This collaborative research project involved partners from the Universities of Edinburgh and Dundee in the UK and the National Institute for Design and Banaras Hindu University in India. It demonstrates how precious metals from e-waste can help revitalise endangered Indian craft techniques such as meenakari a type of enamelling; koftgari a type of damascening and metal colouring/patination. The book makes a significant contribution towards advancing the development of recycling precious metals from e-waste and working towards achieving UN sustainable development goals."
