Abstract
A Closing Remarks by Hao responded to the presentations and discussions presented at the conference 'Contemporary Public Art in the Urban Landscape' held at Tate Modern in 2020 and explored questions such as how we as cultural producers negotiate and proactively respond to the fluidity of multiple social realities, without instrumentalising artistic practice or more importantly communities and how do we foster ‘publicness’ without institutionalising and thereby drain Arendt’s ‘space of appearance’ of its necessary politics?
