Abstract
The artwork entitled “Burns – After Flaxman” 2023 was created exclusively for the National Galleries of Scotland by Colvin and is based on the John Flaxman statue situated in the Great Hall.
The work was premiered at a Burns Night event at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Burns Night, Jan 2023, with a musical performance an artist's talk and a new poem created exclusively for the event by Burns scholar and poet Robert Crawford.
