Abstract
Student tutoring programmes had generated a substantial body of evaluation research of varied quality.
This refereed article from the archives of HEC’s journal Capability describes student tutoring programmes in which students from universities and colleges tutor primary and secondary school children under the supervision of the class teacher. International research literature indicated that the UK model of student tutor was both idiosyncratic and unusually internally consistent.
