Abstract

CIRCA is a communication support system for people with dementia developed in a five-year collaborative effort directed by Alm involving Dundee and St Andrews Universities and dementia care organisations. Press coverage of CIRCA has included ITN, the BBC Website, and media outlets in The Netherlands and Russia. A spin out company, Living in the Moment, is being set up by the two Universities to bring CIRCA to the market. Interest in commercial collaboration has been expressed by Cambridge Cognition in the UK, Plejaden in Austria, the Waag Society in the Netherlands, and ItsNever2Late and Dakim Inc. in the US.
