Conservation Easements in the United Kingdom

Abstract

The extent to which the law in the UK recognises conservation easements is explored. The existing law on conservation burdens in Scotland is examined as well as the detailed proposals for introducing conservation covenants in England and Wales, with consideration of how these relate to other aspects of land law and nature conservation.
