    Abstract

    Exhibition at Design Museum Ghent
    Dates: 17 May - 29 September 2019

The relationship between humans and animals is as diverse as it is complex. Animals are sources of food and raw materials, they are subjects of scientific experiments and organ donors, yet also playmates and family members. However, real animals appear to be waning. Researchers are currently trying to optimise animals according to human ideals. Our common view of animals is increasingly being shaken, above all by the possibilities of genetic engineering. Can the resulting creatures still be classed as animals? And how will these developments affect people and their environment? An exhibition at the Design Museum Ghent by Marta Herford in collaboration with and after an idea by Tanja Seiner.
