Abstract
Nowadays leaders have to deal with a complicated portfolio of issues at every level organization. More data along with more assumptions, and more options have made it more difficult to take immediate decisions about matters that are not often comprehendible. The process of effective decision making is shaped by the type of decision being made and the circumstances which surround the decision. Extensive research has been carried out into what should be considered as the main elements of effective decision making by individuals and leaders. Leadership and decision making in crisis in the global era, is a topical issue that has been discussed significantly, especially after the current financial crisis which develops new conditions for leaders, business and markets. Financial crisis created a mix of urgency, high stakes, and uncertainty, consequently the task of leading during such a sustained crisis is crucial. This paper reviews the capabilities of leadership effectiveness defining which ones should be considered as core nowadays in order the current crisis to be addressed effectively.
