CSR, the environment, and false advertising laws

    This paper considers origins and the operation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) as part of the session's focus on a corporation's social responsibility to the environment. The paper has three parts.
    1 A general overview of CSR, summarising common actions by business, and considers the environmental aspect within CSR.
    2 The role of the state and law in CSR, particularly with reference to Latin America.
    3 Focuses on one aspect in particular - the regulation of CSR statements through false advertising laws.
