Abstract
Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most deadly cancers in humans. There are very few therapeutic options for GBM patients, and novel therapeutics face major challenges such as the inability to cross the blood-brain barrier and GBM heterogeneity leading to resistance. The targeting of extracellular proteases may prove to be a promising avenue for GBM treatment. Here, we discuss current strategies for targeting extracellular proteases in the fight against GBM.
