Abstract
The chapter discusses a new approach that focuses on aesthetic progress within the development of new products, advocating that fresh insights can evolve through participatory activities, rather than solely through individual pursuit; an assumption carried in traditional craft frameworks. The chapter suggests PCP as a potential innovative method of new product development, for makers of contemporary craft; a rare exemplar of the value of research as a means of progressing practice in an individual’s craft
