Abstract

This interactive touchscreen exhibit was commissioned by the Scapa Flow Museum in Lyness, Orkney. It centres around the experience of diving the WW1 & 2 shipwrecks in Scapa Flow, including the scuttled German Fleet and three British war grave wrecks (HMS Hampshire, HMS Vanguard and HMS Royal Oak). The material used in the exhibit draws upon photogrammetry surveys conducted with Huskyan Charters in collaboration with Prof. Chris Rowland and Prof. Kari Hyttinen at the University of Dundee. Users can explore 3D data from the wrecks and associated artefacts, paired with interpretive insights from experts. The touchscreen is part of the permanent exhibit in Zone 10 of the Scapa Flow Museum.
