Abstract
The research theme developed further with a British Council funded trip to Jamaica in December 2006, to research and develop new work to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery. This resulted in a solo exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow entitled 'Downpresserer' (14 March 2007 - 28th May 2007). 'Downpresserer' consisted of a new performance of the Burns song The Slaves Lament by a group of Jamaican singers and players and also included in the exhibition were five new prints and two new photographs details.
