Dundee Research Interest Group (DRIG) 2026 Open Doors Day Event Report

Abstract

Over 100 researchers, People with Parkinson’s, and carers came together at this event in the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee to discuss the latest Parkinson’s research, share personal Parkinson’s experiences, tour different labs and facilities, and find a shared sense of community over lunch and refreshments.

This event report aims to share our learnings and outputs from the day - there were many! DRIG Members and colleagues from Parkinson’s UK have written lay summaries of the talks and lab tours, shared their highlights from the event, and written poems to capture their lived experience of Parkinson’s.
