Abstract

The avantgarde in the arts has been integrated into present society at the price of ignoring its intimate conceptual connection with the political avantgarde. This political avantgarde was defined by Lenin. The article reconstructs its concept in modal terms, drawing on Lukács’ idea that the communist party is the ‘objective possibility of revolutionary praxis and emendating it by Bloch’s concept of ‘real possibility. On these lines, a metaphysical framework of the party model becomes explicit.
